Plasterboard Finish for Paint
How smooth a wall looks once painted depends on the plaster finish under it. AS/NZS 2589 sets out finish levels for plasterboard, and we pick the level for each room based on the light and the paint sheen you want.
Level 3: Basic plasterboard finish
Joints and screws are set, which suits garages, storerooms or walls that will get a heavy textured coat, where the look matters less.
Level 4: Standard walls finish
The usual choice for most homes, and a good match for flat or low-sheen paint in everyday lighting.
Most commonLevel 5: Smoothest plastering finish
The whole surface gets a thin skim coat. Best where light hits at an angle, or with gloss paint.

We build internal stud walls and partitions, frame doorways, bulkheads and nib walls, replace damaged ceiling joists and battens, repair water or termite damaged framing, then plaster and paint the finished surfaces.
Can you replace damaged ceiling joists?
Yes, we replace damaged joists and battens. Where framing is structural, we will tell you if an engineer or council approval is needed.
Which NSW licence does your carpentry and plastering team work under?
Plastering Central works under All Paintworx Pty Ltd, NSW Licence No. 393197C (ABN 52 644 571 291), together with MGH Contracting Pty Ltd (ABN 80 113 876 458).
Will you clean up after plastering?
Yes. Framing and plastering create dust and offcuts, so we cover your floors and furniture and leave the room tidy when the work is done.
Can you fix walls damaged by water or termites?
Yes. We cut out damaged timber framing and plasterboard, replace it, then plaster and paint. We also handle insurance repair work.
